All our experiences and lessons are perfect for families, friends, travellers, couples, or solo water sport enthusiasts.
All sessions are one on one, however there might be other people joining us from time to time.
The conditions will predict our schedule, in most instances the early morning at the best conditions for our activities.
We can work with your schedule, as long as we plan and set times well in advance.
There will be activities we can do regardless of weather, even taking her sight-seeing around Brisbane, or going to the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast.
We can support anyone of any ability:
Sandgate Beach
Comfortable clothing you can get in the water with. A cap, cheap sunnies and lots of sun cream. The bay here is all sand bottom and most people do not wear shoes to go in the water, but if you have some and prefer to wear them, then by all means.
Kitesurfing
Kiteboarding is a surface water sport combining aspects of wakeboarding, snowboarding, windsurfing, surfing, paragliding, skateboarding, and gymnastics into one extreme sport. A kiteboarder harnesses the power of the wind with a large controllable power kite to be propelled across the water on a kiteboard similar to a wakeboard or small surfboard, with or without foot straps or bindings. You do not need much strength at all, as you are hooked into a harness all the time.
Windsurfing
Windsurfing is a surface water sport that combines elements of surfing and sailing. It consists of a board usually two and a half to three meters long, with displacements typically between 60 to 250 litres, powered by wind on a sail. The rig is connected to the board by a free-rotating universal joint and consists of a mast, two-sided boom and sail. The sail area generally ranges from 2.5 to 12 square meters depending on the conditions, the skill of the sailor, the type of windsurfing being undertaken and the weight of the person windsurfing.
Stand up paddle boarding
Stand up paddle boarding or SUP, as it's called for short, looks exactly as it sounds. You stand on a large surfboard and propel yourself forward with a paddle. But, unlike traditional surfing, you don't have to wait for the waves. In fact, SUP, which is wildly popular, can be done on lakes, rivers, pools or any sufficiently large body of water. Not only is it easy to learn that most people can get straight up standing within minutes, it is also a great workout on your core muscles.
Kayaking
Kayaking is the use of a kayak for moving across water. It is distinguished from canoeing by the sitting position of the paddler and the number of blades on the paddle. Kayaking is also a great workout on your core muscles. Best sessions are in the early morning. You might see dolphins, stingrays, even dugongs here in Sandgate or in the creeks.
Kitebuggies
A kite buggy is a light, purpose-built cart powered by a kite. It is single-seated and has one steerable front wheel and two fixed rear wheels. The driver sits on the seat located in the middle of the vehicle and accelerates and slows down by applying steering manoeuvres in coordination with flying manoeuvres of the kite. This activity is called kite buggying. The speed achieved in kite buggies by skilled drivers can range up to well over 100 kilometers / hour, and lessons are run at Sandgate Beach.
Sailbuggies (blokart)
A sail buggy is a light, purpose-built cart powered by a sail, like dinghy sailing but on land. It is single-seated and has one steerable front wheel and two fixed rear wheels. The driver sits on the seat located in the middle of the vehicle and accelerates and slows down by applying steering maneuvers in coordination with flying maneuvers of the sail. This activity is called sail buggying. The speed achieved in land buggies by skilled drivers can range up to well over 100 kilometers / hour, and lessons are run at Sandgate Beach. Blokart is the manufacturer of the carts that Surf Connect Watersports Centre uses at their
